Here is a short film about James at work by the lovely people at Anouk.
James has been designing and illustrating books for more than 20 years across all formats and genres. His work ranges from digital, photographic and typographic, but traditional illustration and print-making are the core of his work. Drawing is his first love, whether with pencil, charcoal or ink – anything that makes a mark on a surface. In 2014, in collaboration with Alex Quick and Old Street Publishing he produced his first book,
At Night: A Guide for the Wakeful, a celebration of all things nocturnal in 50 linocuts. In 2015 he plumbed new depths with
The Corbyn Colouring Book (also Old Street) and in 2016 Penguin Random House published his third book,
Colouring the Tour de France.
Many of James’s original prints and drawings are for sale privately and he is always up for new ideas and commissions. Check out the shop section of this site if you’d like to buy one of his works off the shelf, or have a browse and get in touch with any ideas for a commission.
